A visit to the Vetreria Etrusca glassworks
In the beginning of September, the Flaska staff (finally) went to visit the factory where the life of Flaska actually begins – that is the Vetreria Etrusca glassworks in Altara, Italy, nearby Savona. This long-overdue visit had been planned a long time ago. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, particularly because of so much going on at both companies, the tour of the factory had to be postponed on several occasions.
Joined by Roland, the Slovenian distributor of Vetreria Etrusca, we first set off for the production plant. Glass production is extremely fascinating, especially to those who swear by the material as the best and most sustainable choice in water-bottle production (or other objects for every day use). The guided tour and the explanations helped us to a better understanding of the challenges in the glass industry, often overlooked and even underestimated by clients and end users.
We sat down with the company’s representatives to discuss development, opportunities and challenges at the Vetreria Etrusca headquarters located in Montelupo, Tuscany. The glass façade designed, of course, by Vetreria Etrusca, was very impressive, while the exhibition area gave us an endless array of ideas and inspirations. Confidently, we believe we will successfully make many of them a reality.
